Mine's a simple one, front and rear parking sensors, they'd be a real bonus for me. They may seem a basic requirement to some but when you haven't got them my word do you yearn for them, they'd make parking mine so much easier.

The lack of them was spotted by an established forum member at the open day who "didn't realise they built A8's without them".......which rubbed further salt into the wound..........poverty spec, that'll be me then

Think on PF it was only an option on the back as well, not on the front. Probably dead easy to retrofit rear only as no button required on dash - just a loom connected to reverse/rear light circuit and drill holes that'll probably be pre-marked on inside of bumper

Not sure about where speaker is/goes but I'm 90% sure it was a dealer fit option as well so can't be too hard to do lol. Might just be part of control module in boot? I've never got close enough to the beeps when it's going off to identify where it hides!

To be honest I'm not that bothered by now Adrian, I've driven it for years without, I'll just make sure my next one has them fitted. I'm very cautious when reversing into spaces and often have to adjust the car position after getting out and seeing I've parked several feet short..........better safe that sorry though

I'd like ACC, B&O, Night Vision off the options list.
On a cheaper note - I wish we had an odometer and lap timer on the trip computer as VW have had for yonks, and I wish the DIS would show more information about the status of the vehicle and supplement the error symbols with text, like most other makes of car even older and cheaper ones. e.g. Tell you which light is defective rather than just a red blob in the corner of the car. (The VW Phaeton has a more comprehensive DIS since day 1).

How about an audible indicator sound that is actually audible when the car is moving at a reasonable (within legal limits) speed? Must be one of the quietest ever made!

Yes, I'd like that too. Had it on my last S8 and now really miss it in the winter

At the moment, the 2 features I'd most like from my current car are a 4.2 V8 engine and an S8 badge on the boot.

Hopefully later this week the current BMW E39 530i will magically transform into the above !
