Congratulation on you purchase Andy - a fine looking motor. You have a Username that's familiar to me. Have you spent time around any other forums by any chance? ST165?

the S8 is a bit of refined naughtyness

I grew up (a little bit). I swapped the FAFF (that I'd owned for 6 years) for a B5 S4. I kept that and made it go much faster for 5 years, but I've long pined for a D2 S8. I made that change earlier this year. Much wafty goodness. I love it to bits.

I still find myself looking at 165's though on the odd occasion they come up. My other guilty pleasure is an MA61 Celica Supra, but they're even more rare.

Oh well, just have to put up with the uber package of performance and luxury for now.

yes the drive home cross-country was fun, once i did the first few miles in a totally strange car (never driven an auto, as i said). then my tomtom didnt want to pick up any satellites so that was a bit worrying

but i got it all working in the end and got back about an hour ago.

kickdown is fun, the drive home was very educational and i think ive got the cruise control figured out now.
