It's not much of an area to walk around. Best to take a short taxi ride into Glasgow

Sean, what was your code? I can't find a plate like Sergey's photo, but there is a number stamped on the casing begining with 1060 I think

Dave

Mackies just called me to say the gearbox number that I gave them was no good, so I'm stuck. I've PM'd reg and chassis number if you can help

Thanks, Jim

When I visited Mackies for oil flush I asked reception to call me a taxi to Glasgow City centre, which arrived quite fast. I took my time to enjoy Glasgow.

Jim, mine is model no. 1060040071, gearbox code FBB. The person I spoke to at Mackies was also interested in the 5HP-19 code. My plate is the same style as Sergeys.

Jim, myself and Sean for 5HP-19 gearbox. I've probably got 5H-24 gearbox.

It seems 5HP-24 gearboxes have got their ID plates located in another place. Pictures in this thread will help you: http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.p...46685&start=25

I wouldn't go doing too much walking in the area It's not too bad, but there's nothing to see. Definitely a taxi into the city centre job, shouldn't be much more than a tenner, though a black cab back out will be more.

Sergey, you are a star!

I got the car jacked up, crawled about underneath and found the plate just where it is in the photos on the link that you posted. Whoever put it there had a sense of humour!

Anyway, I got it cleaned up and managed to get a torch in so I could read the number...

...I shouldn't have bothered - it's the same as the one in the photos!

Thanks Sergey!
