A8LFO Silver AUDI A8 QUATTRO AUTO (mine is reg. March 2000)
ULEZ charge applies for this vehicle According to our records your vehicle is subject to the £12.50 daily ULEZ charge. This could be because the vehicle’s details as registered with us show it doesn’t meet the required ULEZ standards. The £12.50 charge also applies automatically if your vehicle is registered outside the United Kingdom and we don't hold its details. If you believe your vehicle does meet the required standards, register it with us. This checker only checks the emissions status of the vehicle - it does not take into account any exemption or discount that may apply. To find out if you need to pay the charge, go to ‘Pay to drive in London ’. ========================================= And then I saw the following: No LEZ charge due for this vehicle This vehicle either meets the required emission standards, is exempt from the scheme or is subject to a 100% discount. ========================================= I'm now confused and none the wiser. Thanks Sadiq Khan.

Went for the 'Pay to drive in London' option:
A8LFO Silver AUDI A8 QUATTRO AUTO Congestion Charge Tuesday 09 April 2019 Daily charge for this vehicle £11.50 ULEZ charge Tuesday 09 April 2019 Daily charge for this vehicle £12.50 So it would appear that Mr Khan would like to relieve me of £24 each day to drive into London. I think I'll give it a miss.

I'm compliant by the way with my 3.7 2002 D2.
No ULEZ fees for late 2002 3.7s :^)

It covers most of Greater London and your petrol car is exempt. Quote:

Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850! |

My DEC 2002 4.2 40v with an AUW engine type is exempt too.
Last time I went to London I paid in advance for my D3 then actually didn't even enter the chargeable zone! That truly pee'd me off! Mike

My Black daily is a FL2 (2001) and has an AQH engine... My Silver project is also FL2 (2002) and I'm pretty sure it's AQH too (though I'd have to check). Late adopters of Euro standards here though, though I wonder just how much cheaper not updating the engine would truly be... (Yes, we just adopt Euro emissions and don't even bother to rename them, or mess with them!). I have some info on FL1 bumpers too, which I'll post shortly...

My S8 is not exempt despite being a late 2001 build, AVP engine.
Must be to do with importation. Very annoying. Is there something I can show the DVLA that my car is Euro 4? |

Yeah may well be because its an import. Neil had issues with his D4 because of a plate change so the slightest thing seems to trigger it.
Maybe point out that other D2s with the same drivetrain are compliant - give them some reg numbers to confirm? I'll have a look in Elsawin later and see if that has anything on emissions standards. I know it has coding tables for Euro3 and 4, but that won't mean anything to the DVLA (TfL?). |
