Anybody looking to buy a D2 S8 at the moment?

I did have a look at their site, but they seem to expect sellers to spend money with their suppliers getting the car into what they consider a marketable condition - I suspect this is where some strange (cheap) tyre choices appear on some of their stock? Doesn't seem right for an Alpina to be sitting on some cheap Chinese/Eastern Europe rubber but if you're spending more money on a commission sale basis you might think twice about the need to buy premium rubber.

I can't be without a car completely either, so I'd rather sell it outright and for them to decide the cost/benefit basis for anything they feel is needed to prep it for a £15k price tag lol

While I have it here I can still use it as needed but would be interesting to see what I could get for it if the urgency to sell increased

I respect 3 countries for their "manufacturing culture" and quality:

1. Switzerland
2. Germany
3. Japan

Sorry, no UK in this list. Even Continental and Dunlop tyres are now "Made in Portugal" or "Made in Poland".

BIG QUESTION: Where I can find tyres with a simple message "Made in Switzerland", "Made in Germany" or at least "Made in Japan"? Have someone purchased tyres **made** in one of these 3 countries recently? Please share.

P.S. They can be of Chinese or Eastern European headquartered company -- I don't care. What I care about is in what country they are **made**.

I know a chap local to me. He saw my audi s8 parked outside the shop and came and shook my hand. He has been looking for one for months, and I think he seen something like 30 examples.

Now this chap is picky but I think if he likes the look of your car he will be prepared to pay something close to your asking price. Bear in mind he is picky, and at this point he hasnt seen your car and I briefly described it to him as possibly the best one out there at the moment.

I m going to send him a link of the advert on audi srs and if he likes the look I ll pass on your details.

The picture of the interior looks nice, but it may just be but the wood on the ash tray bit looked dusty....I presume that is just the lighting though.....only a suggestion but I think maybe a shot of the dash from the back seat would be better....i would do two:....one with sunroof and doors closed and one with doors and sunroof open to get as much light in....and choose which ever looks better with the purple.

Think it might just be the finish of the wood - the car would definitely benefit from a post-winter clean which I would aim to do before someone was coming to view. The wheels have been kept spotless but could do with taking off the car to clean behind the spokes. I'd happily eat my dinner off them as they are though.

Depends how much of a clean-freak he might be as if you actually use a car it's difficult to keep it as fresh as you'd like - once it's had a full weekend spent on it it'd be ready for shows etc.

I have a lot of photos of the car generally which he's welcome to view and I'm always happy to chat to someone seriously interested to save them a potentially wasted journey if it's not what they want.

Spent 5 or 6 hours on cleaning the car today - 1x wheel clean with i4detailing Bright Wheels cleaner, 2x snow foam with Valet Pro advanced pH neutral, 1x hand wash with Autoglym Shampoo, been round all the black bits with bumper care, polished the exhaust, treated the tyres.

Got a bit more to do - got some tar spots to remove, then a clay bar and polish/wax, wheels off to finish removing winter debris from behind the spokes, but it's looking really good.

Snow foaming - it'd been on a few minutes when I took this as had to venture into the house to find my phone!
