Coming back to lights, first FL D3s had still the old lights, but the crucial evidence to ITs verdict is below.
It is a pre facelift D3

Also the "flood damaged" one .... Some idiot is going to be sold that one, it already has a bid of $15K -- I wonder what it smells like ....

On a similar note, last summer this brand new SL500 (priced £73k) was left outside Mercedes Southend overnight WITH THE ROOF DOWN in the rain!



Needless to say the footwells were saturated as were the other compartments in the car. As of today, the car is STILL for sale, reduced to £63,000! I regularly drive past so always get to see it still sitting there. The lucky buyer could have had a free foot spa if they bought it last summer



Knowing what MB Southend are like, I'm sure nothing will be said to the prospective buyer when they return with water-related troubles.

Wheels are RS6 wheels (either OEM or aftermarket) and I liked them on some A8s, but now they are just so common that I'm not the biggest fan on this design anymore, but still looking good

In 2005 they gave it the big grill and square steering wheel airbag, although the W12 got these from launch in 2004.

The facelift was late 2007/early 2008. It included the lipped rear boot lid (S8 got it in 2006) chromed edges to the door pockets, square fog lights, indicators in the door mirrors, different headrests, new rear light clusters, Chromed start button for advance key, New alloys, new gear shifter + others no doubt. A lot of kit started to become standard (not 100% sure on exact date of introduction here, but defo by Mid 2009) like advance key, xenons with daytime running lights, soft close, DAB, 4 Zone climate, Parking System Advanced, Auto Boot, heated front seats etc.

In 2009 you got the 3G Sat Nav, which is worth having if you can find a 2009 model for a few quid more than the 2008 model you're looking at.

Production finished 2010.

I should made myself more clear - introduction of big grille was in my eyes like a little facelift before the proper facelift

On a side note.. The 'newer' round Start button drops into the older models too as the previous owner of mine swapped them over.. Does make the car look so much nicer.

Afraid so Don't think it's too big a job to swap, obviously isn't suitable for one with the fingerprint sensor without a pile of faffing about fitting the memory buttons, etc.

The angles on the 'N's do seem to lift a little, but still looks good with the bright chrome rather than the dull matt black. Pretty cheap (as these things go) from memory.

Could you post a link or picture, can't find one, please.

So how does it work, standard one has 1 start and 1 stop button, is the round one start and stop or just start??
I can get fingerprint one for 30quid but thats a different subject, and another possibility.

The system still has the two buttons, so the stop is still matt black, but the start just looks a little more classy (IMHO).
