Just finding a nice A8 6.0 that isn't a tatty, overpriced bag o's**te would be a start!

Hard to choose just one. Lots of stuff that's taken for granted on my boring daily driver - DAB, Bluetooth, USB/ipod interface, heated front screen - is optional on the older 8s that are within budget. Then there's the proper luxury car stuff: ACC, massaging seats, solar roof, rear entertainment, etc.

Can't miss what I've never had, though, so for me it's probably the media interface, as I like my music and have become used to having 100s of gigabytes of it available all the time.

Heated screen probably not required with a W12, I expect they warm up pretty quickly compared to my 2.0TDi ecobox!

I'd love ACC and I massively miss having a sunroof, but how about a set of those new laser headlights.
And if I can't have those (which would be strange as this is daydream stuff) then I'd settle for the LED headlights that stay on permanent high beam while modulating the light spread so they are dim in the places occupied by other cars. Clever stuff and being Audi it would work... mostly

I did the same and managed to select all the things that sounded nice and mine came to £146,000! But hand on a minute, let's look at these options and ask yourself what sort of person is buying these?

order code YVX:- Audi exclusive personalised door sill trims @ £2,700 inc vat
order code YSG:- Audi exclusive carpet and floor mats @ £2,145 inc vat
or just order the floor mats @ £485!
order code YTO:- Audi exclusive seatbelts @ £1,635
order code YSX:- Audi exclusive folding grab rails with wood inserts @ £1,050!

Some of these things are just beyond silly, don't get me wrong on a massive lottery win, I would love to pick a car and say to the dealer I want fully loaded, and repeat the words whilst still shaking his hand on the deal "fully Loaded!" but the car is just going to be so extreme it's untrue.

I've been on a previous car forum and there they did a little review where they did a line up of the car in top spec and it's cost compared to the the fully loaded spec on that car and then calculated the percentage of options and the Merc S Class at the time was 43% of the top end price! so someone has gone in and bought the best car that Mercedes build for luxury and then thought I need to spend another 43% on this car just to make it good enough for me? Crazy!

Regards, Mark.

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.
