OK, as a foreigner here I will use the ''necessary'' language here, less kind and will blame my reply on simple lack of ''kind words'' in English (easy
 )Mate, people are just annoyed with you keep bumping the ad up where the chances of selling it on here are less than 0.1% for the following reasons: - it's not an A8 engine - it will not fit in an A8 - the real condition is not really known so 'risk' vs 'no use for it' = why here?? - it is a UK based forum with couple of US members and few EU members. - even if you accept offers of 99c it wont be economical to pay for shipping and custom charges over here because of the points mentioned above. Plus, we would like to see at the top of the FOR SALE category the newest ads from other members selling bits which actually fit our cars. Not being rude mate, but it is how it I think is from reading replies of other rather frustrated members. Good luck with the sale  (somewhere else unfortunately)

so are you also saying its IMPOSSIBLE
 to couple this to a 01E and fit it into a A8?  no its not. i actually planned on doing that. more room for turbos but might as well move stuff around and squeeze them in with v8. more parts available. so im just putting it out there for someone who does projects and tinkers. if you dont want it...well thanks for looking. Despite the interesting idea of installing it in an A8, and the overwhelming temptation to let this run to 'see what happens' I think its run its course.
We're all now fully aware of the availability of both a brand new and 2nd user Passat W8 engine available in the US should we feel the burning need to go through the expense and hassle of importing one. For interest in the latter, please PM the seller directly. For interest in the former, please consider professional help as even though it would make a stunning coffee table, it still smacks as being priced a little optimistically given the likely lack of demand.
