I have today driven more than 500 miles from Estepona to Valladolid and the 8 did not miss a beat on the whole journey, Wafted everyone up here in comfort.

At least the 19c temperature and cloud is giving the body a chance to adapt to the UK weather.

Hi Mannyo,
Sorry you could not spare the time to meet up while you were down here. Would have been great to see the 8, as not many about down here.
Hope you have a safe journey back to blighty and the 8 delivers you back in one piece. I'm sure she will. Have a safe journey and maybe will will meet at a meeting in the UK. If not, then next year down here in Estepona.
Safe journey,
David

Dave, I agree about there not being many in Spain. I think I have seen just one other 8 and that was yesterday up here in a small beach town called Comillas.

I am back on the Portsmouth ferry today, so tomorrow evening the car will arrive back at home in Blandford.

This is the 8 parked outside a cloudy and cool Posada in a village called Viveda, our last overnight stop in spain.

Now back in a very wet UK, got home at 4.30pm. Raining cats and dogs, so no change from when we left the UK 3 weeks ago.

All in the 8 has covered 2200 miles since leaving the UK, I'll add up the value spent on fuel and calculate the MPG for the whole trip.

Well done!
I love to see a 8 make it through a long journey with no problems. They are ideal long-distance cruisers.
I saw two in France.

I did nearly that much going to Scotland for a week!
Daren't add up the petrol bills though, no Gibraltar cheap stuff up in Sutherland - 154p/litre if you're lucky!

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Ah, it's the quick wit and intelligent comment that makes this forum what it is today.

Just needs a spell checker!

One tries one's best to portray the Audi A8/S8 owner as a cut above the riffraff mentality of the average BMW and Mercedes-Benz owners
