Well it's been an interesting weekend already, a blow-out on the M1 kept the journey down interesting. Try getting from the fast lane to the hard shoulder in heavy traffic in a hurry, it's an ordeal to say the least. No harm done though, spare fitted and the journey completed. It's a bit hairy changing a wheel on the factory jack when the car is rocking every time a lorry rumbles past, thankfully it was the near side rear.

We're staying at Rushton Hall tonight if anyone wants to pop in for an expensive pint. Neil, will we be allowed in the allocated area with the oil burner?

By the way, does anyone know the best method of removing brown stains from light grey alcantara?

Crikey that sounds like an ordeal Ron
Rushton Hall is a nice place, are you sure youre not a Laird or Lord?
Yes I'm sure there will be room for a smaller one on the stand Ron (at one end or at the back ) will be great to catch up!
See you in the morn!

PS have you thought of dyeing the rest of the Alcantara brown? after a few pints at Rushton Hall and seeing the bill when you check out it should be no problem!!

Have a good day guys. Hopefully the weather isn't too bad there.

Would love to have attended for the (apparently) last AITP but definitely wouldn't be allowed within a 10 miles radius in my BMW lol

Hello you 8ers,
Raving reporter here from the Audi's in the Pond show here at Billing Aquadrome. We have been allocated a big lake to park in. It was a field this morning when we arrived and due to the huge amount of liquid sunshine we are now sheltering in a Mercedes so we don't get the leather wet in an 8!

We managed 9 8s in a row and for the first time in this reporters experience the D3s outnumbered the D2s.

More to follow from Romping idc.

We got home at 16:45, so did okay despite the atrocious conditions. Good to meet you all, some for the first time and some not so. I suppose we can't say we weren't warned about the weather, still a sickener though when you look forward to an event like that.

Just checked the car and it was a 450 mile round trip for us, filled up again and getting around 36MPG, which isn't great considering the amount of restricted speed miles on the M1 and A1, but still considerably better than I'd have seen from the S8

Hope to see you all again at a future event, or multiple events. The annual meet has got to be a must for me in 2015, after missing this years for good reason

Romping Reporter here!!

Great to see you and the better half Ron and it is really appreciated to everyone who made the trip such a long way only to be drowned by rain! It was still a record attendance for the organisers despite this and we are looking forward to AITP organising the World Record attempt for the most audis in one convoy/place sometime early next year - watch this space!

Having cleaned my car thoroughly over the last few days to say I was gutted that the weather was so poor was a tad understated!

Well here's the few pictures I did take - this one just shows how bad the drive across to AITP was weather wise -

We got home at 18.30 but had dinner in the pub at the aqquadrome

Shame about the weather but we were warned, but they also said it was supposed to have been the same yesterday and it was lovely on Saturday

Nice to meet yous for the first time, shame we couldn't have had a bit more crack if it had been dry

Will look forward to meeting you all again at another show

We did 427 miles round trip 40.3 to the gallon coming home 39 going

M1 is shocking at 50 most of the way

Cheers Andy
