I test drove a few cars last weekend:

Jag XF 3.0d S - didn't feel anything like as quick as it should have done, and I fell out the seat round every corner

Range Rover Sport TDV8 - nice to drive, but they are more expensive than competitors, use more fuel and cost more to tax, plus the one I looked at wasn't the best example I'm sure

Volvo XC60 D5 - very comfortable, quick enough, was interested in this until I looked at

Latest model Touareg 3.0 TDI SE - unbelievably good, interior quality far superior to any of the others noted above, quicker than the other 4x4s, and cheaper to fuel too with the 8 speed stop start auto

I'm not changing until mid-April, but the new Touareg is very much top of the list currently
