Update - the new badge has arrived. It fits
 part number 4H0853738AT94Photos are here if anyone finds them useful... As for fitting I doubt I'll be taking the grille off, I think some adhesive will be the best option so I'll look at keying the surfaces first as they're smooth and shiny.
