D2 S8 Centre silencer
Hi all, hope everyone is well.
Does anyone have any experience as to whether this will work on a FL car? There seems to be diffarent part numbers for fl and pfl. https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tra...-4d0253409f-10 Thanks Frank

No it won't (without changing a bunch of other stuff). The PF and FL have different bracing in the tunnel. The PF exhaust goes over the bracing and has bumps in it to accommodate that (you can see the bump in the left of that pic). The FL goes under the bracing and is flat.

Ahh, I see. I didn't notice that kink in the pipes.
If a man was a little ocd about trying to keep his car as original as possible and the correct part was NLA, could the bends be cut out and some streight pipes welded in? As long as the cross over pipe is put back in, could that work?

Technically yes, but alas you are still thwarted by that piece being for the 3.7 which has smaller pipework than the 4.2 (55 vs 60mm), as is the AE version (FL 3.7) they also have.
The only 60mm version they appear to have is for the W12, which interestingly has an X pipe instead of an H, but is also even more eye-wateringly expensive https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tra...4d0253409ah-11 Edit: still thwarted - the W12 is 60 in and out whereas the S8 is 60 in and 55 out, and the 3.7 is 55 both sides.
