Default Wanted - Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 255/35ZR20

I'm after a 20" Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (the dual compound tyre) size 255/35ZR20 with decent tread.
As this will probably end up on the spare I could (as I have before) tolerate a standard PS4.

Also probably (sooner or later) I'll need one or two Final Edition 20" wheels, ideally still diamond cut. The original 8.5J version - 4D0 610 025 AE.

Friday afternoon I ended up with a totally flat tyre and cracked wheel, not sure which came first but the tyre is definitely toast as I drove on it for a couple of miles before realising. I'll find out next week if the wheel is repairable.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Well my researches seem to lead to the conclusion that to get diamond cut you need to buy from Germany at German prices and be prepared to pay a lot to get them into the UK.
However I found a refurbished (painted) pair without any welds/repairs for sale on eBay and trotted over to foggy Essex this morning to pick them up. In due course I'll rationalise what I have as the surface of my current wheels is going and I'll soon be saying goodbye for ever to the diamond-cut look.

The seller was a quite interesting, he'd had them on a D3 W12 a few years ago. When he bought it it had one pair of 9J and one of 8.5J FE style wheels. So he upgraded ASAP to 9J all round, which I think is correct for a D3 anyway. When the W12 moved on he kept these for a potential project which never happened, so they've been sitting around in his garage doing nothing for a long time.

As for tyres, I'm now not so sure. If a bargain part-worn turned up I'd still be interested but I might just buy a new pair next spring when the winter wheels come off. They're not on yet (apart from the spare wheel which is now one of the winters) but I'll probably do that earlier than usual as I'm down to four 20s.

As for the wheel, they said it was repairable but I've not heard back yet that it's done.

Maybe this one? Not a 4S but should be OK for spare and not far from you, could pop over to collect and get it fitted for £10 extra. A bit of mixed feedback but if going over yourself, you could check out tyre before parting with your money.

Thanks Ainars, missed that one. Not sure about: NO PUNGCHERE!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest, having bought two 20" wheels (for about the same price as fixing my broken diamond cut one!) I'm tempted to get two new tyres, but I'll talk to my tyre man first. I'll get him in ASAP to put the winter wheels on and show him what I've got (once the repair is back with me). He's a bit of a petrolhead so talks sense. The summer tyres are all in good nick and not that worn but are dated 2016.

Have you considered getting your existing wheels 're-diamond cut'. I have seen the results from a local company and was very surprised.

Yes I have, but they've already been done more than once and it's no longer feasible.
