I actually fed the cable from the puck antenna under the boot rim seal then up the cable run into the boot lid and joined into the existing wiring there. Might seem a bit weird, but it was reasonably accessible and there was a connector linking to the aerial on the boot lid. Getting the boot lid inside trim off is pretty easy and you can then access everything fairly simply. So I didn't have to cut any cables or go rummaging in the cabin behind trims and under carpets looking for cable runs. I think I needed an adapter of some sort as, inevitably, Audi use different coax connectors to the rest of the GPS world.

Polestar performance "optimisation".  (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

It ended up going here as there was a perfectly sized cut in sound proofing there from the factory, lol:

The pic was taken during installation, it has been changed to bar now and is working ok, providing interesting insights to how tyres heat up on a drive, it's also set to trigger a warning if tyre goes flat.
