Service Interval not showing?
Wasn't sure where to start this thread, and potentially stupid question.....
When I go to Car----->Systems, there is no option displayed for seeing the Service Interval......according to the handbook that should be there...? To be clear, I get the options for Background lighting, Parking, Exterior Lighting, Seat Adjust, Central locking etc. I dont get Service Interval Display or Tyre pressure monitoring.... The car is a late 56 plate, 2007MY. Thanks in advance! Christer |

Mine too, so will be interested if there is an answer.
Is it caused by being on the long-life (flexi) service regime? ***EDIT*** Yesterday, I changed to fixed interval service to no avail. Also noted that Service Interval is ticked in the Green Menu Mask... Last edited by snapdragon; 23rd April 2020 at 08:19 AM. |

I'm probably wrong, but I think I've read that it doesn't show up, apart from the reminders when you get closer to service time, count down etc.
Happy to be corrected.

Service numbers 'sort of' available ...
Quote:
However, the numbers are available in the Instrument Cluster [ECU 17]. If you have VCDS, Measuring Group Block 5, values 3 & 4 have the distance and days to next service. I'm not aware what triggers the display of the 'next service' in the car but at least you can get a clue from the ECU measuring blocks. Julian |

My 1997 Vauxhall Omega even showed this on the trip computer and I'm sure my 2001 Passat did too. The A8 is let down by the basics of the DIS and MMI with rubbish messages like Brake Pads! and others with bad grammar like Vehicle extremely not level mecahnical fault. Connecting to office phone... (which was fixed in MMI update).
They are almost like placeholders put there on pre-production development models. When we had a 2002 Merc C class, it seemed much more advanced with things like Front left indicator fault - using foglamp as subsititute. with a nice sythesised chime. I think the A8 would just say "Signal fault!" in the middle of the screen and make a chatty generic beep sound. |
