Default Retrofit PDC? and 17" Avus alloys

I'm slowly rebuilding a 1996 D2 4.2 as a bit of a hobby.

As this car is blessed with a 'universal' loom I've slowly been adding to it's spec. Buying parts from this those great folk who are based at Stockton-On-Tees. Fantastic service, rapid delivery ect Shame I've probably spent more on bits than the car will ever be worth. But that's life! Up to now I've added a rear blind and side blinds. A nice new rear seat that has heating and electric headrests, and a few other items. On the 'to buy' list is a Solar Sunroof 'kit' and maybe a few other bits and bobs.

So, what bits do i need to retrofit rear PDC? I recently spotted on ebay in the Prestige Motors shop a PF rear bumper for sale with sensors and loom included, I assume that other parts are needed to complete the retrofit? If so what please advise. Can the front end also be upgraded?

I would, could pick up the phone and ask the experts, but then that blasted Solar sunroof and that lovely alcantara headliner not to mention many other nice must have things that would vastly improve my humble A8 would end up being bought. and my credit card would self destruct.

Besides that I just can't afford a divorce!

I was offered a set of 17" Avus Alloy wheels, in very good unkerbed condition, which I'm told that they will bolt straight on to my car for a bargain price (£90.00 for five wheels). Now, I always thought that A8 Avus alloys were all 18" Or, have I gone into 'thick' mode and got it wrong (again)

Thanks for reading this I look forward to reading any replies.

I had 17" Avus alloys as winter wheels on my PF S8, they fitted fine. Came from an S3 or similar I think. Edit: Presumably an S4 (see next post).

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions, ski hatch retrofit; extended leather. Aftermarket DVB-T, reversing camera and full XCarlink (Bluetooth etc.).
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (A much rarer model than a D2 S8 by the way!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. AgateGrey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon, Auto-dim mirror, Leather, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

The S3 Avus were 5x100. There are two 5x112 17" versions - 7.5" wide, ET45 from the B5 S4 which are pretty common and 8" wide, ET30 from the C5 S6 which are very rare indeed. Either size will fit any D2 apart from the FL S8 with the Brembos, but the S6 version would be preferable as its the same width as the D2 17" flat fives (8x17 ET48) so would comfortably take the same tyre size (225 55 17), and would fill the arches quite nicely. The S4 version did have 225 45 17 from the factory though so could take a 225 55 as well, but would obviously sit a lot further in the arch (albeit akin to the flat fives).

Thanks for that info. I think the wheels are from an S3. Either way I''l be picking them up over the next few days, the plan is to use them for winter tyres.

Check first then, because 5x100 S3 wheels won't fit a 5x112 S8.

Thanks for that tip. These wheels are going on my 1996 A8 as a winter set not an S8. Not too sure if that makes a difference or not as all my S8's have 20" wheels

All D2 are 5x112, as are all five-bolt Audis apart from 1st gen A3 / S3 and TT and A2 which are 5x100.
