Default What's this?

My engine management light came on, I found the error and then erased it using VAG COM, but it came back again after a drive to Mcdonalds and back (2 miles). Anyone know what it is? Really hope its nothing expensive, because if it is, this cars going of a cliff. Not amused

In fact, when I erase the code it comes straight back after 1 second along with:

8 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B2 S2; Heating Circuit: Short to Plus
P1110 - 35-00 - -

Readiness: 0110 1101

I wonder if the two are connected? I have had B2 S2 lambda replaced with an OEM Bosch jobbie so I dunno.

Edit: Also when messing about with Vag Com it reckons my oil quality is: 2. Is that good or bad, what does it go up to?

Hi mate.

Oil quality is the oil type - i.e "2" is LongLife regime for petrol engine. "1" is fixed service all engines and "3" is longlife diesel. It is just a coding designation, not a measurement mate

Secondary air solenoid is the one that operates the 2 air control valves on the back of each cylinder head.

Lambda probe may be my fault!! I think I have put wrong side on!!!! I fitted to the pipe while it was out for the 'box!!! Sorry mate! My bad!!!

Oh phew, I'll pop the car down and get the lambda swapped over. This solenoid valve expensive then? I'm hoping its been dislodged rather then failed as its not saying the resistance is to high or low just that its open circuit. Is a part number or Ekta diagram available of this so I can have a lookesee, I'm not used to having Vag Com faults on my car

Drove up to Ben's today and its all sorted now, the secondary air pressure solenoid thing had disconnected itself so Ben just reattached it and fitted the lambda in the right side.

You guys should have seen this RS 6 Ben was working on though, it was sitting low on coilovers in Daytona grey with black wheels and black optics and Millteks. Also, did you guys know that Ben helped develop the KW coilovers on the RS 6, the RS 6 owner told me whilst Ben remapped a S4. How cool! Top service as always and some droolworthy motors at AVP today including a new R32.
