They are usually a bit brown but nothing remarkable. I cut the Murple's filter open, which had 323000 miles on it was just a bit dark. No crud or blockages.
Some progress from last night - rear calipers painted to match the fronts Printed alignment spacers to line the subframe up with the body. There's no load on these - they are simply there to hold everything in the right place while the bolts are done up. Subframe complete and ready to go back on. I keep looking at this and wondering whether a Tesla motor would fit in it Reassembly is the reversal of removal Position it in the right place on the pallet jack and lower the car on to it Bolted back in B-roll shot A few bits to reconnect, but it should be back on its wheels today |

Are there alignment spacers used during first assembly? Just curious if the tolerance between the sleeve in the bush and the bolt is to allow for some 'lateral' adjustment to align the front and rear subframes or wheelbase lengths.

I believe the factory will have used an assembly jig based on the holes in the body, similar to what I showed in Ricky's Van Attack thread. They may or may not have then moved the subframe around during the wheel alignment, however that is not an option to us now because wheel alignment companies don't go in to that much detail, and I can't afford my own machine!
As with the front subframe, I'll line the rear up exactly with the features on the body, and unless there is something spectacularly wrong with the alignment I will leave it alone |

A few updates from the last week as I'm finishing off, putting bits of trim back on etc.
I had the back bumper painted as it was a bit of a mess, and also replaced the lower section with a better one. Its quite difficult to reassemble a freshly painted bumper without damaging it so I covered pretty much the whole thing in masking tape. I also replaced the worn out brightwork but forgot to get a photo Rear tray repaired and refitted. This had been mangled by someone who couldn't get the screws out, but some heat allowed me to massage it back in to shape Bumper on Underneath completed Unobtanium antenna grommet - the last one as far as I know Another unicorn part - a boot panel with all four clips intact! Most of the boot back together, although I do need to remember what I did with the spare wheel! The engine bay is also complete Agenda for the weekend is an eyeball alignment so it can go for a proper one next week, some interior parts back in, put the audio system back in, and swap the door mirrors as the motors aren't working (which I didn't spot while the door cards were off ) |

I think those boot dividers are still available for £120 a piece haha.
Excellent work! |

With the aluminium bar bracing the chassis do you need a brace on the subframe? I have both on mine and wondering why.
