Default My new S8

I just got home with my new s8....was trying to be sensible and pick it up on Monday....but temptation got the better of me so after work went on a mission to London and picked it up....

An absolute dream to drive and if it keeps going like today I shall be a very happy owner....

There is a picture of the owner giving his last farewell....

Much to his credit he took care of every last detail and the car was exactly as described.....to the point it came with 3 keys.....this is the first time I bought a car like this....usually I m checking every thing....but this time I went with instinct.....

There is loads for me to play with...I didnt know it had front parking sensor until i got home....and I love the playstation controller in the ski hatch....

Things to do......

1. Coilovers
2. RNSE and peripherals

But before I do these things.....I ll have to sell my cherished A8 sport pf....On the way home I was toying with the idea of keeping both...and the only way I think I m gona be able to sell it is if I promise myself that I wont drive the s8 until I do....hmmmmm maybe thats a bit harsh.....

How was the economy compared to your old '8? They do like a diet of high octane fuel - don't notice any difference in economy when running it but pick up seems noticeably better on v-power

Default Economy 17.8mpg

On the M40 from london to coventry....cruising at 90mph...My A8 used to show about 26 mpg when I first got it....but now it shows about 22 mpg since fitting new maf....so I think lpg conversion is certainly in the near future....

The better economy in the A8 was the reason I persisted with it rather than moving to s8 before....but now it was coming to the point when it would need a fair bit of work doing to it....and it was a case of either spend a grand or so on it or just use a bit more money and get something newer which wouldnt need so much work for now.

Woke up this morning...looked out the window and there was an a8 and s8 parked side by side....felt like a little kid with his toy cars again....
