yeah it varies you can get things pretty cheap on ebay if you just keep checking but the trans can come from a passat that's the one I have, audis, BMW's and Porsche have the same transmissions but probably a bit expensive from porsche.
I wasn't sure if I'd need the trans unit but I bought it anyway and the connector. Just bought the cheapest one, they range from very low to very high prices.
Used stuff is cheap man I bought this like new car for $1000

Just sell your 4wd gearbox and get a fwd gearbox, you'll probably end up with some money left over as the 4wd box is worth more.

I didn't say there was a problem doing it I said it won't hold up to the v8's torque when used like that.

I'm afraid our cars won't be "flying" with these setups since you won't be able to be able to floor the gas pedal too much. When my transmission is destroyed I'll probably have a new plan altogether. Should have more money by then.

There are benefits to using the more expensive manual transmissions. They are the only ones strong enough.

Still wondering why you are embarrassed to say what car you are building.

Building cars isn't a cheap hobby

I look forward to your outcome, though and hope it works out.
