yes it looks very similar note sure of the part number as I am out and about but it was the correct one for the A8 as I bought it from the dealers.
as far as I am aware the unit just needs the "other" cable to operate a hard drive I wanted it for the IPod so bought only that cable interface. It them worked the ipod from the MMI pefectly I used an 80GB ipod which I transferred music to on apples lossless option and it sounded first class in the 8.
I know Audi sell their own hard drive as an option with it so it shouldn't cause problems.
Dead easy to fit alongside the disc player and I have the connector leads which many being sold lack.
