You do have to modify them, but it has been done on US forums.

Phaeton brake pedal and TT accelerator pedal work in a D2, the footrest is a no-go.

I saw that thread earlier. Both of those that fitted them were onto D2's though. Not sure if any modding is needed for a D3.

This is what I have currently fitted as a temporary solution. But as stated earlier its too industrial and clunky. One of the issues is that the radius of the plastic footrest (on the D2 at least) changes along the length but keeping to one radius doesnt give too bad a fit.
