If you hold your finger on the lock button all of the open windows, and also the sunroof, close together. I never used the function in the 9 years I owned my D2 but I was sad enough to read the manual and found out loads about the car thst I previously wasn't aware of, it's worth doing

You're talking about a D3 now, right?

Otherwise I'm about to rush out and try that!

I'm one of those strange people who always reads the manuals from front to back when I buy a car and, while the fob thing is documented, I'm pretty sure that aint in the D2 manual.

I just found that the aircon settings are remembered, linked to the individual keys. And yes, it is in the manual.
Don't know if that is the same on PF D2 as I never found or noticed it in 11 years of owning one!

The all-windows function I've found very useful when drying out the car after my drains blocked, open them all a crack on a windy day and it's drying but protected from the occasional light shower. As I have a solar panel sunroof it's otherwise not much use.

Also, only found out fairly recently that pressing the button on the underside of the right stalk cycles through the DIS display options and I do use that a fair bit now.
I happened to read that in another forum, haven't looked in the manual.

e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

If I remember rightly on the D2 that button has a dual purpose, pushed at one end it cycles through the display options and the other end resets the averages back to zero, is that correct?

I'm only talking PF here mind, I've never had a FL

PF D2 here, buttons at the end of stalk cycle through the options, one goes one way through the options and other end in opposite direction, button on the underside resets the counters for those functions with long press and short press makes DIS go off/on, to reduce glare I imagine. It's the same on C4 and C5 6's as well and probably on 4's and VW's as well.

Maybe it changed from PF to FL? Or RNS-C to RNS-D?
With my PF S8 I was pretty sure it (button on bottom) was just used for resetting the numbers and I never bothered with it. Never had a reason to turn the display off so never tried the short press.
With FL the short press cycles through blank, navigation and trip computer choices.

That's the one, I struggled with it for years with my fat fingers, when I finally mastered it I bought the D3
