Default Rare 4 x 18" A8 W12 monoblock wheels, 1100 pounds

Hello everyone,

As some of you know, I'm happy owner of rare forged A8 W12 monoblock polished wheels. Polished wheels are manufactured from original lacquered wheels by stripping off laquer and polishing aluminium to mirror shine via process called Hochglanzverdichten (don't even know correct term in English). I love these wheels.

Now I have another set of original lacquered forged A8 W12 monoblock wheels, which I purchased in Germany as a second set for winter use, but I didn't manage to actually put winter tyres on them, so this set is now for sale as the summer season gets closer. Part number 4D0 601 025 AL Z33, size 8Jx18H2 ET48 5/112.

Wheels are in good used condition. There is a number small chips here and there. There is one hair scratch which can be removed by a small bit of abrasive polishing. One wheel is kerbed, but not badly kerbed, so these are very good used wheels.

If you're perfectionist like myself I think a good roadmap would be to powder paint wheels sparkling silver or 'Hochglanzverdichten' them if you like the look of polished wheels. In both cases you'll end up with 100% perfect wheels. If you're not perfectionist and don't mind small kerb damage then these are very, very good used wheels.

Forged A8 W12 monoblock wheels are popular in community of smaller VAG cars, so they usually come with ultra low profile tyres. This set come with very slightly used (almost new) 215/35 ZR18 84Y tyres. Two tyres manufactured by Nexen and other two by Minerva. All made in Korea. These tyres can fetch at least 150 pounds from eBay, based on my experience of selling the equal quality tyres from my first set of W12 monoblock wheels.

Wheels are equipped with german recessed valves for easier cleaning.

1100 pounds. 2 weeks exposure here, then eBay

I can very well package the wheels to make sure they are not damaged during transportation and I can then send them anywhere you like. Postage is not included in cost of the wheels. I'm based in Reading, so if you would like to view the wheels or prefer to collect them -- you're very welcome.

Pictures!

Very interesting valves. Have not seen them before. I think I will buy a set of valves when I get my wheels refurbished. Found set on e-bay:

why is the tyre size so low ? i have 18" wheels with a 45 profile, having a 35 would make the speedo read false would it not ? sorry to point it out but i just noticed, and dont you have a 55 profile on your other set of the same wheels ? very rare wheels though, i have some 17" mono blocks with polished face but they are not rare

The answer was there.

He bought them in Germany from (presumably) a non-A8 car owner and never fitted the winter tyres.

Hi Guy,

Sorry if I was not clear in my first post. These alloys are popular in community of smaller VAG cars, like A4, Passats, etc.

If you hunt for these wheels on eBay it is virtually impossible to find them with A8 tyres.

If someone from this forum is interested in these alloys the first thing to do is to remove exisiting tyres and eBay them. They will easily fetch 150 pounds since they are almost new. This is what I did with my first set. Then proper A8 size tyres should be fitted.

Yes, I use my monoblock wheels with 245/50 R18 tyres and here's how the *polished* (non-lacquered) set looks on my car:

Hi Adrian,

These are US made ramps. They are absolutely great. I use them to change oil at home, for some detailing exercises, inspection, washing, etc.

The product on the picture is Two piece 67 inch Race Ramps

I've ordered them 2 years ago via UK company called "P9 Raceshop" tel. 01226 388171, but I'm not sure they are still around. Start digging from the US web site again and find out who can supply them to the UK.
