Default Wet feet again today!

I'm sure this has been covered before, but a quick scan didn't find anything.

Had wet feet syndrome a while back (sloshing noises and then a big dollop onto my feet in a corner) but at the last service they said they cleared some aircon drains and it certainly was OK.

Went to the winter meet the other day, just under 200 miles mostly in pouring rain (especially coming back) and had no noticeable problems.
(but maybe something filled up in readiness for today.....)

Today did a 200 mile round trip and on the way back, near home, going "smartly" round a left-hand bend (exiting a roundabout) my left foot got soaked.
Managed to get a bit more out of both sides by "pushing it" on a couple of uphill bends shortly afterwards.
Weather was dry for the "outward" trip and light drizzle (intermittent wipers only, even on motorway) coming back.
It seems to be coming out of the centre console a few inches above the floor, but as it's dark I haven't investigated. It's just plain water.
No noticeable condensation - unlike one of the cars at the meet!

Any thoughts on the likely cause and ease of fixing? 1998 PF S8.

Cheers!

possible one of three (or all three) the orange drains in the transmission tunnel blocked or the air con drains blocked (or both) or Botang's hole, see Guy for details on that one others documented here but remember this is for an american left hand drive car

It sounds very much like the "Evaporator drains" (orange) described on AudiPages - though that says there's 2 - one each side.

yeah one on each side of the the tranny tunnel, the trims are a real PITA to get off but once in you sould be able to see them ok, be careful with them as they are fairly flimsy rubber and I managed to burst one of mine, however only around £24 to replace.

Thanks.
I'm not motivated to get the PITA trims off at present so I''ve taken the mats out to dry and am leaving the windows open as much as possible to dry the interior. Not ideal weather, but at least it's not raining.

I needed to make a short (7 miles or so) journey today on twisty roads so I took the S8 and did a lot of rapid acceleration on tight uphill corners which seems to have emptied plenty of (clean) water out of the system onto the floor (and feet).
(where it goes then isn't obvious...)

Not using the car much at present, but when I do it will be on "Economy" ventilation so hopefully no more water will accumulate and it should slowly dry out. If it does build up again then another "test run" as above will highlight that; I hope not as then I'll be looking for other sources than the aircon and drain from that.

This time of year you might want to try these type things, they work really well.

Something like that would be very useful, except it says
"regenerate in an electric oven" and we've got gas.....

Though something like this (micowave regeneration) is plausible: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-Pingi-.../360419334768?

And i thought it was just parts of devon that had no electric, you can get some that you can use a microwave, no good if you don't have electric though. I have a generator you can hire cheep (ma8's ra8's) or just put the bags next to the paraffin lights

Oh we have the new-fangled "magic electric" here in the home counties, though it does come via overhead cable.
(As does t'internet)
But the oven is gas, so no good as it's always a bit humid.

But we do have a microwave so I've ordered some drying bags of that variety.
Thanks for the idea.
