Default Ventilation System

Hi All

All of a sudden I have water in the Ventilation System,I'm not sure how its got in or where its come from.

Its a pain because when the Ventilation System is running you get water in the foot wells and out of the vents.

Has anyone any ideas on how this has happened and a remedy.

Cheers

M3CSL

if its what i've seen on the forum its the drains under the bonnet near the centre of the car that block up with leafs and general crud. I think i've seen a series of threads on the forum recently detailing it further, do a search of the forum..you should find the threads.

yep very common took about 5 litres out of my front mats/carpets a few weeks back, then did all the drains, seems to have worked (fingers crossed) just remember the guide on Audi pages is for LHD so you dont need to undo throttle stop etc, but the drivers side tunnel cover is a real bu^^er to get back in.

ok how about this one for removing the water out of the vents ..... i was annoyed and did not want to wait for it to evaporate so i came up with this idea ....

get some copper brake pipe a 2liter empty coke bottle put a hole in it just the right size for the copper pipe about half way down and put the pipe in the vents and a hoover on the top of the coke bottle and hey presto look at the results ...

copper pipe

stick it in the vent

then into your bottle

attach hoover and suck it out

result .... no more sloshing

about 200-250 mil i think over all
