to be honest, I wouldn't bother.

Have you got a double DIN fascia already, or just the small single DIN?

If you've got double, then go for either the RNS-E or a Pioneer DVD based unit.

If single then buy a TomTom or a pop out screen jobbie.

The RNS-D is pretty horrid to use and the maps for the UK are now very out of date, so suspect you'd have the same issue down your way.

I've got RNS-E in mine and it works pretty well, but my £250 TomTom is a far better device for navigation only.

Looking at the part number, its an RNS-C - Its not worth 50 quid, or the money it will cost you to get the code for it (although a *friendly* Audi garage will do it for free)

RNS-D can get up to date maps, it the RNS-C that stopped in 2007.

But either way, the RNS-E represents far better value for money, however theres little chance of getting it to fit a Pre face car, so even I would give up on that one.

Tomtom will probably struggle for reception unless you get an external aerial, so the best you can do is a pop out screen single din nav unit like the pioneer avics for example.....

Or, buy a paper map..., its easier..

Sat nav only seems to be any good if you know where you're going, or fo finding a street when you get there. Paper maps don't tell lies or send you down a road with grass growing in the middle and thinking you can do 60 down it. Also if you can find a A3 size book map it'll fit in the document holder and stop you service book wallet from flying out when you boot it.

I'm thinking about the RNS-E update and recall that either the A6 or A4 version was a slightly better fit. Can anyone advise which and provide a part number please?

Most info in this thread here and believe the A6 one is a slightly easier fit, but both require an amount of trimming.

Mine is 4B0035192P which is from an A6, I believe.
