Default Help with ecu location pls

Still fighting with my auto light/wipers issue
No one knows whats wrong.....not surprised there I guess
Could you guys point me ecu's location for above?
Don't have a clue how to locate the fault
Frustrated beyond frustrated
All coding is correct, no faults, new rain/light sensor fitted
I thought that the windscreen is incorrect but after close inspection all serial numbers are matching rest of the cars glass
Did the s8 originally had sun visor, my next question?
Properly

This ECU is located behind the glovebox, next to or very near to the CAN gateway.

Part number is 4E0910279(revision letter) if you need a new one.

hope you get it sorted

Hi Borys,

If all is fine with J519 (09 - Central Electronics) there maybe a fault with the wiper motor control unit J400 or wiring in between. J400 is a slave from J519 and controlled via LIN. The physical wiring between J519 and J400 is from plug C (that's the 32pin connector)

J400 is one complete unit with the wiper motor. Have you replaced this in the past?

No never touched by me
Problem lies with auto lights as well, they are on all the time no matter if dark or day light
Was hoping that there is an ecu which control both as the rain/light sensor

Yes J519 decides whether to turn dipped beam on or auto start the wipers, hope you can understand this command path

Rain Light Sensor (G397) >>>LIN>>> sunroof electronics control (J528) >>>CAN>>> power supply control unit (J519)

Auto Lights Switch (E1) >>> power supply control unit (J519)

J519 then controls the headlights and wipers from data gathered from Rain Light Sensor & Auto Lights Switch.

Hope that makes sense.

Another thought, is module 38: Roof Electronics (J528) coded correctly?

The rain and light sensor -G397 is coded in the onboard power supply control unit -J519. If the rain and light sensor -G397 is fitted the light sensor must not be coded in the roof electronics control unit -J528.

You can test this by subtracting 256 from the coding value in 38: Roof Electronics.

Note down the original value before changing!

Yeah, keep us updated.

This may be of use, it's coding of the rain / light sensor that relates to the glass you have.
