Default FL Audi S8 Odometer Displays "FUSE."

Hello guys!

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not, my apologies.

My 2001 Audi S8 has developed an odd addition to the display. I'm referring to the display that shows trip / odometer. The odometer is now showing "FUSE." I'm not sure what would cause this.

Is this a common malady, and how do I resolve it?

Thanks guys!

^^^ Thanks, IT!

I've just gone outside to snap a picture, and the display's gone from showing "FUSE" to the regular odometer digits. Very strange! I'll keep an eye out for it.

Got FUSE on odometer today. Car is FL 2002.

It went away when I pressed daily trip reset button "0.00"

...Have no idea what it means...

Check the fuses. Our A6 shows the same message when I remove fuse for instrument cluster when flashing ECU.

Thanks Ainars, will check. You remove fuse for instrument cluster when flashing ECU? Which ECU are you flashing?

Engine ECU on A6. Many VAG cars need instrument cluster fuse to be removed when flashing ECU, don't know why but that's just the way it is. The general rule is if it does not flash with fuse, remove and see if it helps.
