Why Cat C and D aint that bad
Coz this is an example of a low mileage 'hpi clear' RS4 coming soon into the classified listings after someone picks this up and does some more DIY on it...

Says unrecorded in the advert, although if it was rear ended presumably it had front damage too otherwise why take it off?
That's some serious bodyshop dust going on too - that'll be in every nook and cranny!! If it comes with history it's a lovely colour, good spec with nav, phone, buckets etc - depends how well its been repaired....

quote] Exactly... and How bad was the rear end to need the rear screen out. The interior is covered in dust, the leather seats have headlights on..... ! It might look ok when its done, but its got a lot of work ahead of it, and plenty of opurtunities to cut corners....

I see where Ian is coming from on this - its a question over whether an unrecorded car that has has significant repair is any 'better' as an ownership punt than a well repaired recorded car. I suppose there's all those cars that do get repaired by insurers, so aren't recorded as they're not writer off, floating about. Basically anything is likely to have had some repair....
Our old xsara vts was insurer repaired and was bloody awful! Took 3 attempts to get it passable enough to even sell on!!

Given that the C (or is it D) pillar has been welded half-way up, suggests that it was some serious damage on the back end and that section has been replaced, so what else is gone? Is the chassis straight? Is the welding up to scratch? Will it split on you half-way down the motorway?
And would the next owner know how badly it was damaged?

a) a barge pole b) yours c) the gloves in a Class III containment hood Delete as appropriate.
