Mmi fw 5570
Folks - As you may be able to tell from the INTRODUCTIONS Section, I have returned back to the BRAND.
I am after some assistance and that was in the form of upgrading my MMI on my S8 to 5570 - I thought i could just buy the FW CD/DVD but that does not seem the case - will stand corrected. Does anyone have a BACKUP  :copy that i can borrow?Also any thoughts where i can get a 2013 DVD apart from the STEALERS!!! Nik

I can sort you a map DVD assuming its 2g which it should be if you have a nav drive - pm me if interested
Firmware updates can be found online but hopefully someone local to you will have them

Which wheel do you have on your MMI.. if it's flat, then it's 2G and can be upgraded to 5570 and you can obtain the maps from *cough* the internet *cough*. If there's a little joystick on top, then you're on 3G and that's a different system.

OK - so I have downloaded the Backup Copies - Inserted DISC 1 5570 Update - Through Service Menu and It upgraded - I get the 55.70 Version on the SW - BUT - it did not ask for the other 2 CD's
Is this normal? I also then went back with VCDS and enabled Battery Meter and Oil Level - ALL OK? Question - How do i enable the 3D Maps view - cannot find it anywhere - sorry am i trying to be techie when i am clearly an amateur? TIA

You have to start over with disk 2 & 3, they are not asked for automatically.
It is possible you don't have any units that need them though. When in NAV, I think you press SETUP and it is in one of the menu options. It is good, but you lose streetname labels on the maps.
