Default Location of G200 Lateral Acceleration Sensor

Can anyone give me some idea of where to find the G200 lateral accerelation sensor on a D2 A8? I finally managed to get all four ABS sensors cleaned at the start of the week. Was out a few times in the car and did over 300 miles before the ABS and traction control lights came on. Car has been running fine since. I did a scan and it threw up engine codes about Lambda sensors, secondary air and fuel trims (the car runs on LPG). It also threw up the following:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels: 8D0-907-389.lbl
Part No: 4D0 907 389 E
Component: ABS/ESP allrad D56
Coding: 08397
Shop #: WSC 02313
VCID: 31630B1DFB327B1

2 Faults Found:
01464 - Brake Pressure/lateral Acceleration Sensor
48-10 - Supply Voltage - Intermittent
01423 - Lateral Acceleration Sensor (G200)
35-10 - - - Intermittent

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is intermittent and doesn't always show up on a scan. I've done the usual Google search and it seems to be that the G200 sensor is somewhere on the drivers seat. Now, I know several people on here have had their seats out, and was wondering if anyone has a decent photo of its location. I had a quick look under the seat and noticed that the wiring loom that disappears into the carpet isn't tied up as neatly as the passenger side one, but not sure exactly where to look.

Default Certainly

Just fired up my trusty VirtualBox instance of WinXP with ELSAWIN installed.
See attached pic, it's the second one down but that should be self-explanatory.

Cheers for that. I came across that image doing a Google search, but not the associated text. Will have another look and see what I can find.

Default ElsaWin

If you'd like my pre-installed XP with ElsaWin, I've already given the VDI image on a USB flash drive to HPSauce aka Andrew in the past. All I'd need is a 32Gb flash drive sent to me, if you're interested.

Thanks Johnny. Following your post, I decided to do some Googling, and after a couple of hours mucking around, I now have it on my laptop. Now all I have to do is figure out how to use it properly

Default Some options may not work...

Glad to hear you've got something sorted. ElsaWin is worth its weight in gold, IMO. I tend to just leave it on the Workshop repair guide bit, as I think some of the other options require internet connectivity and of course, neither of us two are certified VAG mechanics or have the necessary login details!

The beauty of my VirtualBox install means that I can save the whole XP machine in its current state and it only takes a couple of seconds to return to where I left it last. Judging from what you've said, it looks like your version may be installed as a separate application so you'll have to start it each time.

One notable use for it was when I first tried to remove my foglights. Couldn't work out why the stupid thing wouldn't pull out of its slot in the bodywork, so had a quick look on ElsaWin and immediately saw that there was a plastic locating post, in addition to the two Torx headed screws that I'd already removed.

As you are coming to the Annual Meet, would you be able/willing to provide a copy for others if possible?

Would have no objection at all, but PsYcHe beat me to it... and I notice that he's considerably closer as well.
