How come you had these in your possession?
Did Audi liquidate their spares stock in the past and they were up for grabs?

The driver's side (RHD UK car) is the tatty one on mine and I notice there are two in the picture i.e. one potentially spare??

They are not factory fresh, but as perfect as you can get in used condition.

Audi still sells some of old stock via Audi Tradition web shop, but very few combinations are still available. Getting matching set for all 4 doors is no longer possible.

Both RHD driver side trims went to buyer yesterday.

That shouldn't be a problem ;)


I'm not even sure if I'm going to use them yet. I just didn't want to miss a chance to get a set in such good condition.

I'm presently trying to get my original (non-wood) set refurbished (long story ...). If that goes well, I may not use these at all.

I didn't even know about Audi Tradition. Just looked at the website. May come in handy if I cannot source some rare parts in the future.

If you don't use them, please give me a shout. Although my drivers one is the worse, all of them could do with renewing as it looks like all of the previous occupants of my car must have been heavy jewellery users judging by the scratches to the inserts.

I am making the assumption that "Platinum" part of "Vavona / Platinum" refers to the darker part of the trim near where the window switches are.
In the photo the other parts look beige to go with the twist interior.

No, the platinum part is the inside of the handle, including the separate lower plastic piece.

On my monitor they look beige. They look like the ones in my twist-interior car
To me, Platinum (as a colour) is grey / silver / metallic (ish)

So are those inserts grey / silver / metallic (ish) in colour?

Or is Platinum the misleading (to me) name for the beige inserts that you would find in a car with a twist (beige) interior?

Don't be too worried Spanker, the inserts are, indeed, very similar - if not the same(maybe?) - as those used on a Twist interior (as in my '8). I looked hard at these to try and find the colour difference between those shown and mine. I am still not convinced there is any! But I am sure that when looked at in real life under the sun there will probably be a slight difference.

I think it must be your monitor, unless I've just bought a bunch of door inserts the wrong colour! :lol:
