Ive damaged the Headlight washer >_<
Well, not so much "damaged" as ripped off.
It happened just over a week ago when the Audi drove me, the misses and four mates to the airport at 4am to go skiing in France for a week. The trip to the airport was in freezing temperatures and thick snow. When I pulled up at the airport to unload (before heading off to park the car) I noticed the passanger side headlight washer was stuck in its up postion. I pressumed as I was washing the window it had frozen in that postion when driving along, something I swore at and thought I would leave until I got back. But as I ran round the car to go park up, my baggy trousses caught it and ripped it clean off >_< I will give A8 parts a call tomorrow to try and order a new black headlight jet for the 99 8 but I have had a look and I cant see how it could be replaced without removing the bumper.... can it be done or is it a bumper off job? How easy is the repair for someone with almost 0 skills?! I will take pictures it tonight. At the moment I am gutted. I really hate the look of the gapping hole in the bumper! On a good note my mates were amazed at how well the A8 coped with the snow, they were terriffied that we wouldnt make it to the airport. |
Here is some pictures of the broken bumper headlight washer. As you can see its totally snapped off. I can see that the "stem" is also a pipe for the water to run up.
Is it a bumper off job to fit a new one? http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._1835040_n.jpg http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._7758649_n.jpg http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._3693617_n.jpg |
