It's' all in the bushes? Hope so!

Hi, I think the resource is in here somewhere but I've not found it, so my apologies if I'm repeating but I'm at my wits end. :(
I have a 2001 S8 which I love, but I've been chasing a slight wobble on braking that's driving me crazy - feels like it's on the back end?

All Wheels balanced and aligned
All New tyres
New discs, pads hoses and calipers refurbed.
4 wheel alignment done.

I've been told that it could be lower arm bushes, but they are NLA for my D2.
Rumour is that there's an A6 that fits/
Or preferably, I'll get them all replaced. If one is gone, the other can't be far behind? Or any other suggestions?

would this work? Anyone tried them?

any help would be so gratefully received - as it's my daily driver.

Firstly, welcome. If you're planning on staying around, pop along to the Introductions section and introduce yourself. It's also worth updating your profile so that we know where you're located, and add the car details to your signature line.

As for your issues, here's one suggestion I've seen mentioned before, especially since you had the callipers refurbished. The stainless steel pad guides are a tight fit, and depending on the refurb job, they might be sticking.

There's probably a lot more options, but at least you're searching in the right section of the forum. Remember to keep us updated if you resolve the issue.

Bushes

Thanks for this. Will fill in the intro stuff just now.
No - New spring clips fitted and ground down the edges of the pads so they don't stick.

:(

Are we talking about the front or rear suspension?

This may have some of the info you need.

Thanks for this, but the bushes are NLA, so I need whatever the A6 one is that fits. I'm grateful for the people that tried to help, but I'm no further on.

Maybe I'll just order the set from Poland, hope it turns up, and then at least I'll be guaranteed to have one that will fit (maybe).

That or it will have to go. I'm obviously not bright enough to run an S8 :)

Unfortunately if you want to keep this car running long term then you are going to need to do a lot of research. The whole "no longer available" issue is really problematic. Not just in the suspension but in every area. Whatever problems you have next (and you will), you'll be all over the Internet looking for parts. That said I found these within 30min of looking this morning.

I'm not saying that they are 100% right, you will need to do more research but they may be some of what you need. Or at least they may make do.

It took me 6 months to find all the parts I needed to do my rear end rebuild.

If I were you I'd think very carefully about going down the road of owning and running a D2 S8. Time, money, research and patience are now essential parts of ownership.

Take a look at the pictures.

Just as an aside, it's also happening with D4s as well. Forum member manca was looking a part for his 2010 D4. The part was discontinued in 2018, but there was a superseded part. Great news... except when he enquired about it, he was told by the dealer that they stopped production of that part as well, so less than six years of production!

Thanks guys for the advice. In regard to thinking long and hard about running a D2 S8, it's a bit late for that!
I've run old jags, Porsches, and a number of other classics and never had problems getting parts like I do for my D2. Owners clubs have always had someone that met the problem before me.
My 50-year old Rover for instance is a doddle to source parts for (but then again it was built round the corner).

The problem is it's a daily driver, and I think buying (yet) another car may be the answer as it can get fixed in as much time as it likes if it's sitting.
