B&O tweeters won't rise but gears are fine
 

Hey all, been doing tonnes of little odd jobs on the S8 recently and managed to get a lot sorted aside from the tweeters.

Since buying the car both tweeters haven't raised or lowered, a VCDS scan shows a motor fault for both. Reading about the little gears I removed both and opened them up to discover that the gears are absolutely fine, no broken teeth at all.

So firstly, I couldn't seem to find any concise information, are the tweeters 12v? I have a "test" bench that can output power but only 12v, I wanted to see if I could manually apply power to see if the motors do indeed work.

Secondly, what else could prevent the tweeters from raising if the gears/motors are okay? I'm assuming one of the B&O control units in the boot.

Any help is much appreciated.

Do you still have the results from the VCDS scan showing the exact error? The previous owner may have disconnected the motors for the tweeters so they don't go up and down.
