Headlining

Hi all, it’s been a while, but the old girl has been fine and dandy and so have spent a few quid on her recently, finally getting all the water ingress sorted and a few other jobs.

Now have a headlining issue. The fabric has started to come unstuck above the rear seats…
Has anyone got experience of taking the headlining out and
Re-gluing..??
Many thanks…

I think the only person that has removed/refitted the headliner is MikkiJayne, but I don't recall if there was a thread documenting it.

I don't think anyone has attempted re-gluing it.

According to the following PDF, starting at page 239, the headliner can't/shouldn't be removed as a single piece as it 'may deform the roof'. Not sure why this warning is printed in the PDF, as others have done it successfully themselves:

Oh...
I would have thought this will involve the removal of either the front or rear window...

I recently removed mine and recovered it in alcantara. Removal and install is pretty straight forward. Remove pillars and all the other stuff then just take the headliner out through one of the doors. On my lwb it was the front passenger door. On this forum you can find the manual detailing removal. My biggest tips are use a proper glue and material. I used technicoll 8044 plus adhesive that I bought from a german site called ottozeus.
