Phone aerial grommet
Does anyone know the part number for the phone aerial grommet? Is it 4A5035539? I’ve bought 2 that don’t fit properly, so the next question is where can I get one from?

That is the correct part number. There is also an o-ring, should you need that. Part number for that is N90405401.
I came across the following site that has several items listed with the same part number. The following one is listed at 21 Euro... the only downside is that they charge 30 Euro to ship it to the UK (ah, the joys of Brexit). URL Removed as NOT the correct part number as per title You could try contacting Dean, as he seems to have better access to some sites. |
Thanks Sean - I also need one of these, so I may order and get it shipped to my son in Hamburg, for him to bring over +++

After years of searching for the original part, I've come to the conclusion that they are completely unobtainable as a new piece.
Every time I've searched for 4A5035539 and thought I'd found a new one, a bit of digging has revealed that the vendor is actually selling the 8D5035539 which is specific to the A6 C5 and the A8 D4 prefacelift. Every vendor seems to think that the 8D part replaces the 4D part but it's not a direct replacement or a supersession. Although if you read David's post (3rd last in this thread) you can see that with a little bit of physical persuasion, it will fit: https://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthre...t=15004&page=3 Unfortunately, the link that Sean has posted has the same: "Number: 8D5035539 replaces 4A5035539" And when you click on the Parameter section of that listing you will see this: "Producer code 8d5035539". |

Update on this topic. I did get a very similar item to that which David bought, but the rubber was so hard that, even once I got the rubber grommet in, the aerial would just not fit through.
So, I bought the one that Sean posted (link now deleted) and that was a much more flexible rubber. With a bit of warming up and some help from a plastic trim tool (and a few choice words of encouragement!) all eventually went in well. Photos attached of the old grommet (removed) and the new one (in place). |

I think you are right, Sean. Although this part is relatively expensive and postage costs even more so, I’m very happy with the result and the look of this item. It’s less ‘plastically’ looking than the previous items that I’d tried and, if it lasts another 20 odd years, the cost seems immaterial.
