Be careful not to buy the V6 version

Changed mine last year, bought a refurbed unit from D2 Doctor

077903015P is the V8 part, I think, K might also be compatible

Thanks Sarg, got a link off Neil for one he bought for his last year but it’s currently out of stock with them. Waiting to hear if and when they’re getting back, but I could do with one asap…..

I got one from Autodoc a couple of years ago

Originals are still available from Audi:

You can buy cheaper if you search Autodoc.co.uk for part number: 077903015PX or 077903015P (the old supersession).

I've heard chatter on the Facebook groups recently about how the bearings in cheaper alternators don't last and the Bosch Reman alternators should have the cheap Chinese bearings replaced. But I'm sure that someone here will be able to shed a lot more light on that.

I have recently replaced mine with a lucas one and it seems to be OK apart from a slight whine. It doesn't really bother me as it's not noticeable when sat inside. The only thing I found different with each part number was the plastic cover on the back. The pipes are positioned differently. I changed over the plastic from the old one. I had three different part number alternators and all worked k,l and p. Just be sure to make sure the voltages match.

got one from my local motor factors as the ebay link to a suitable one was out of stock..... not in until may 2025....
Had to get one to get the car out of the workshop!
Anyway local motor factors sourced one after 2 attempts, despite giving them the various part codes off the old unit they got the wrong one in - apparently there's a mismatch or some such like with the codes on the dealer info they have access to....... anyway got there in the end but it was pricey at almost £300 +vat compared to the ebay one for about £150.
