I have my work cut out.
I was going to put my new motor in for a paintwork correction detail but with Audi's in the park being on Sunday I have now committed the whole day tomorrow from 6am-8/9pm to do the car myself. For the following reasons.
1. Can't find a pro detailer at such short notice 2. Wayne (Frankow with the gorgeous black 02 S8 on here was kind enough to let me borrow his rotary - thanks so much +++) I'm going to be concentrating mainly on the paintwork and am by no means expecting a complete correction but lets see what happens. At the moment the paintwork is very dull and when it rains the water just clings to it like a magnet unlike the S8 where it used to sheet of. Here is what I'm up against. (Lots of swirls and buffer trails where it looks like polish hasn't been broken down properly) http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...rS8/SWIRL2.jpg http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...rS8/SWIRL1.jpg Wish me luck. I'm going to be so tired at the end of this! +++ |
well I do know is that the colour you have is gonna look awesome when its finished :D

From what it seems, ming blue does look very good once polished up.
Hope you don't mind me nicking this picture from your facebook James, but its a perfect example. http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1281135004 |

Update.
Not going according to plan because when my I Phone went of at 5:30 I though, forget that. Got up at 10:30 am then realised I'd lost a grill so went and grabbed that from Audi. So far I have snow foamed it http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...snowfoam-2.jpg Washed it with this new shampoo, not sure if its any good but had ran out of my usual duragloss stuff which I love. http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...arS8/Zymol.jpg Then it came to the claying stage. This is what it looked like after the bonnet, wing off side wing and both off side rear doors. http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...S8/doorbon.jpg Top of the boot and it started picking up a lot more. http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...opofboot-1.jpg This is what it looked like after doing the bit just under the numberplate of the boot! Needless to say, I turned it over before I used it on the rest of the car at this point. http://i665.photobucket.com/albums/v...arS8/clay3.jpg Its amazing how much clay lifts off, remember this car has just been throughly cleaned by yours truly and still all that muck remained. I used a seprate piece of clay to do the bottom half of the car, and then it was time to bring her in doors (so I can't use the it rained excuse for not finishing). Lets see if I have the energy to crack on... |
Wow Amar,
Looks like you've been busy, persist as it will all be worth it. Will you be putting in an appearance tomorrow?? |
Hi Wayne, yes I'm all set for tomorrow. Didn't get much done on the car at all actually, I spent enough time on the bonnet and although I am sure there will still be a a fair amount of swirls visible in bright day light its a transformation from what it looked like before as you will be able to see in the picture below. (Compare that to the ones above!) I'm still fairly knackered. Wheels and door shunts haven't seen much attention

That looks great, that will really bring your car to life!
I'll be briefly attending in the morning, see you then+++ |
Hey Amar, nice to see her getting some external loving.... You're doing for the outside what I did for the inside.... Cant wait to see her all done... +++

Few more hours spent on the weekend and some Zaino and it looks a lot better. Camera doesn't really pick up the shine/reflection though really.
