Positively drooling....

Tuesday is confirmed for collection of new car.

I dont think I have ever looked forward to any car as much as I am this one.... Honestly. If I find any more kit it has, I'm going to have to write my signiture in a smaller font... :p

I've not even seen it yet, and I grin at the thought of it being mine.:love::love:

Dealer has removed it from Autotrader now as hes had enough of people trying to buy it and turning up randomly even though it said deposit taken... Apparently, one guy last night tried to gazump me... Whats the world coming to....

All Mine All Mine All Mine All Mine All Mine..... :D:D:D

Congratulations Ian :D bet you cant wait til Tuesday!
the 3.0 Tdi is a cracking engine with lots of torque and im regularly getting 38-40mpg driving mine (even down my private driveway to work at speed lol) and 44mpg in traffic doing 40mph on the way home +++

Hi Ian,

I must admit, that spec does tick an aweful lot of boxes....low miles, economical, good amount of gadgets and the B&O to top it all off with!

I can see why you snapped that up so quick! +++

Yeh, I really wanted ACC and the sunroof. B&O was a strong desire. I wast past caring what engine I had to buy to get all that, but the more economical the better being self employed and all ;)

Thought I'd end up with an S8, but got a nice frugal 3.0 Tdi instead, lower cost, probably lower miles and cheaper to run. Well happy... +++

Do MRC do diesel remaps for these? Would imagine with a 'live' remap this will happily eat D2 S8s for breakfast and give all bar a full fat D3 S8/W12 a run for its money!

When I went up against the A6 3.0 diesel at GTI Intl with its remap removed it was only just behind me over the standing quarter. With the map I'm sure positions would have been reversed.

Singh 29th January 2012 12:13 PM

I'm sure that A6 you went up against was mapped by Shark Adrian, yeah MRC do the 3.0 diesels, they do the best remaps in the business for Audi IMO. But knowing Ian, he probably won't go for the remap.

Doh, I hate being predictable.... I'll have to remap it now just to make you wrong.... :p

Adrian E 29th January 2012 02:10 PM

I would remap just to know I was getting the best performance out of a diesel as the maps are SO conservative on diesels, plus it generally improves fuel economy to boot.

It would make up in smugness for the lack of cylinders when you come up against a better endowed D3 at some point knowing you can get home again without filling the tank again

Standard maps on diesels can be pretty peaky so its nice to smooth out the power delivery a bit for driveability.
