Travel gurus.

Hi guys hoping to go to Vegas in may for the Khan v Peterson rematch just wondered if anyone can suggest the best websites to look at for flights and hotel. This will be my first trip to the states,cheers +++

Been to Vegas two years in a row, and am going back this year.

First of all, you need an ESTA. It will cost about £9, and will stay valid for two years. Fill it out here, there are lots of dogy websites about that will charge more and then just do it for you.

https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

I would stay at the Wynn/Encore, nice and central and a great hotel. Vegas has the best hotels in the world, and they are very very cheap.

Flights, you can get a cheaper Delta one with a stop off. Or go BA/Virgin and it is direct (10 hours).

Getting from Vegas airport to the strip, don't get hustled, people will approach you telling you the taxi que is an hour long and you can go in a Hummer for only $xxx, take the shuttle. It is about $7, and you will see it as soon as you exit the airport.

You HAVE to visit the Grand Canyon, it is amazing. If coaches aren't your thing, hire a car as the journey is five hours long. I find Thrifty to be the cheapest, go for the option with the highest level of insurance cover, the sat nav and the tank of fuel.

Finally, have a look on Expedia or lastminute.com for flights/hotels. Bare in mind, it is sometimes cheaper to book a package flight/hotel via British Airways then just the flight on its own.

Have fun. +++

Thanks guys,Amar I've done the esta that's sorted. The fights at the Mandalay Bay,hoping to stay there if not fully booked.Vegas and Grand Canyon are on my bucket list so hoping to cross them off together.

I stayed at the Mandalay Bay over Christmas, just 3-4 month back, ask for an upgrade to the suite view, it is well worth it. The Mandalay Bay is a bit far down the strip, but a good hotel. Make sure you don't pick up any of the drinks/nuts in the room unless you want them, it automatically charges you as soon as you pick them up as there is a sensor underneath, even if you put them back! This is the view I had from my bed (photo does it no justice).

Even saw a D2 A8 on the strip

& a black D3 S8 soon after, sounded nice.
