Isofix Damage,.....
3 Attachment(s)
I was installing the S8 seats in the a8 today, and for the first time looked at the existing seats in detail.
They have obviously been used extensivly with isofix seats, which are great for clicking in and out quickly but have worn away the leather far worse than I would have thought - I certainly wouldnt be using them. They were using the little plastic inserts, as they were still there ! Photos speak a thousand words, so I'll shut up: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1337465773 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1337465773 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1337465773 |
It seems to me like the marks on the backrest is from missing the opening when clicking the isofix in?
You can avoid most of this this by using textile floormatts on both places. I do have that underneath the child seat and at the backrest.(not isofix) but no marks so far:) |
Must've had a million kids to do that damage, or the seat didn't fit very well!
I've got a material cover that goes behind the car seat (isofix) and that works pretty well. I chose my car seat carefully so it would minimise the risk of damage. Some have much less frame around them which could explain the damage. Ours have always had support legs as well Interesting fact about the d2 - it's virtually impossible to buy an isofix seat with the correct approvals any more. The isofix in the d2 isn't 'universal' so you should have vehicle specific approval for the child seat. Mine don't, but I know what I'm looking at and I'm happy it's a good fit |
