Water ingress to cab :-(!!!!!
Hey guys, just back from a drive and noticed the windows were steamed up after collecting my sons comic from the shop, alarm bells started! First place to check was passenger footwell.........yup, soaked!!!!

The first thing to do is decide (not easy) which of the 3 or 4 main suspects is the actual source.
If it's ONLY the passenger side could be Botangs hole. If you hear "sloshing" going round sharp corners it's probably the aircon evaporator/condenser drains (orange drains) Take the main front carpets up both sides and look underneath; they can absorb an ENORMOUS amount of water. As noted by me in one of those threads, if it's the orange drains it's just as easy to take them right out and clean thoroughly rather than blow air through them which doesn't remove all the "crud". ;) |

Right got it started, removed the side trim at the passenger tunnel side and located the big orange bit! Removed that and no water came  Does this mean its not leaking from here????

Difficult to tell.
Take the orange drain out of the car and see if a trickle of water into the open pipe comes out of the "valve" end. Either way clean out the valve with warm soapy water and check it works OK. Then soften it in VERY HOT water before easing it back into place. Unless it's 100% OK before cleaning I'd do the other side too. |
I would also suggest you do the drains either side of the transmission tunnel, they are the ones you need to attack with the air hose, or if you can get it on a ramp I think you can access them from underneath
good luck |
