URGENT! Glow plug heater warning light flashing
Im driving home from london to newcastle and the glow plug light has started flashing, engine keeps cutting out. Has anyone got any suggestings please?

Also the the car will accelerate if im gentle with the pedal, but if i push to accelerate quickly it cuts out.

Sounds like fuel supply problem, could be simple thing like blocked fuel filter b ut could also be failing fuel pump. Hard to tell without plugging it in.

Well i managed to get her home, took 5 hours.
Bought mysef a vcds too, so im going to plug it in today and see if i can find out whats wrong. Do you know if i buy a new fuel pump and fit it myself, will it need to be coded or will it just work. |
Change the fuel filter...that's what mine was ;)
Could be a number of things but that's one of the cheaper options... go for OEM |
im going to change the fuel filter now, iv just had it on vcds and got these fault codes

you'll need to clear all the codes in case they are old ones and try again too just to see what still comes up currently +++

Fuel pressure regulation could well be related to filter if it's clogged.

Iv cleared them and changed the fuel filter although the one that was one looked to have been changed.
Iv just got two fault codes one for right engine mount short to ground and the one for the transmision mount, but i can live with them for the moment. So all going well i should be ableto make it down to prestige on sunday. |
