Faint buzzing noise coming from the rear.
A few months back I noticed a faint buzzing sound whilst sitting in the back. Now that I know the sound I can always hear it whilst in the drivers seat.
I notice the buzzing sound starts at around 58-60mph. The pitch of the buzz increases with speed. The buzz sound doesn't change when the road surface changes. It's a very consistent sound. I have read around and gathered that is could be the tyres, wheel bearings or fuel pump. What are your thoughts? |
Do you consume a lot of cabbage?

It could be.. If the noise gets worse or better when you turn left or right, then id' suspect a bearing. Could be tyre noise.
Or... it could be wind noise somewhere.. check the seals, etc. |
Wind noise ;)

Took it to a garage today. Mechanic came for a test drive. He couldn't hear the noise. Had it put on the lift and inspected underneath. No leaks.
They didn't even charge me! I do need to replace front tyres. Could front tyre noise resonate through the car to the point it sounds like it's coming from the rear? |
