You can get HID kits off ebay which make a huge difference.. Still not great though.

The difference in light from my D2 to D3 is phenomenal...

Easiest way to fit is to either mount the ballast on the back of the headlight cover if they're small enough, or pop the headlights out and cable tie them to the beam below.

No, not the whole headlight. You can retrofit HIDs which are essentially Xenon lights, look cool and give a hell of a lot more light. I done this on my old 97 4.2 QS, they are a doddle to fit. £50-60 from eBay. I would go for 6000k, I think they give the right mixture between a white and blueish light, anything higher might look chavvy...
I think your car has H1 bulbs, but double check as I can't remember exactly so ebay 'H1 HID 6000k' or something similair, make sure the kit comes with the balasts and bulbs. If you dont feel upto fitting them I can give them a go at the meet for you +++

If you haven't done so yet then fitting some after market HID lights will change your night time driving experience. Mine have just sailed through the MOT. Go for some about 5800 to 6000 k.

Okay, stop showing off D3 boy! Also when are you posting pics? +++

If you didn't get it... We think you should get HIDs :)

the higher the K number, the more blue the light and the less actual light comes out too apparently. I think factory fit tends to be around 4300K.

Singh... Did I mention D3s again :)

I'll get some pics soon.. Trying to get some time to clean the two '8s and get a decent shot of them together.

[thread-hijack] Did some cross-country in the D3 today, I thought the D2 was awesome... this is like moving up another class almost [/thread-hijack]
