D3 folding mirror stuck up after bump

Hello all,

My car was bumped whilst parked and the drivers door mirror has been jammed (?) in the up position. When I try and restore it to normal position on the door control, it moves very slightly then stops, maybe 2 or 3 mm.

I have been into VCDS but I cannot find any reference to the door mirrors (hoping there might be a reset(?))

Does anyone know if there is a way of resetting mirror back down? If not, what is the cost of a new mirror?

Thanks to the experts

Work it manually by hand back into position.

Agreed - If it was knocked manually out of position, move it manually back. They are designed to be knocked out of position for this very reason. Once clicked back onto its rightful position, all should be well...

Drivers door mirror

Hi guys,

My Indy has pushed the mirror back into normal position. It does not fold and it no longer adjusts from the switch. Does anyone have a diagram of what is inside please.

Thanks

Not to hand but its fairly straight forward. Check your fuse, then check you are getting power to the adjustment for mirror mech.

This is a half elipse unit (secured by x4 mini torx) that adjusts the mirror that can be removed, cleaned or replaced. Then there is another motor which does the mirror folding mech.

The forum sponsors will be able to provide you with a complete unit if they are both caput. The mirror adjustment unit can be bought separately from Audi.
