Nothing there that you could realistically get at, but with the mirror disconnected and turned upside down I put large quantities of WD40 etc. into obvious holes and cracks while "exercising" the mechanism and it improved hugely.
It's a while back now, but I think the first time I did it was totally off the car and using a 12V power supply to drive it.

No not WD40, that's just a short term solution, you will just wash whatever grease is in there out and WD40 will dry out itself in a day or 2.
You to take it apart, clean re-grease and re-assemble.
